Jeremiah 29 Challenge - Scriptures

The Red line – Redefinition of Marriage

CCM were fully supportive of the Coalition for Marriage campaign and believed the views expressed by C4M were balanced and reasonable. Please refer to the video presentations below to refresh your memory of the issues at stake.

We believe Rick Warren also spoke very well on Redefinition of Marriage with Piers Morgan on CNN

Clifford Hill spoke powerfully into the whole marriage debate on The Big Questions on BBC 1 in 2010 and gave evidence to the proposal that marriage could mend "Broken Britain". CCM consider this to be proven by all the available statistical research. Please look at the video below

One of our CCM Trustees, Danny Stupple, entered the Eastleigh By-Election, being a local man, in February 2013, to campaign for marriage to not be redefined. We were greatly encouraged to see that he came 5
th after the 4 main parties - but it retrospectively proved to be the final chance to stand in the public square and ask for marriage to remain as defined by God at creation.

We believe that for the UK Government, in both Houses, to subsequently enact redefining marriage by statute, shortly thereafter, permitting the first of such unions to begin on 29 March 2014, was, and is, a major departure from the personal teaching of God on this matter.

Institutional Church exiled from the centre of 21
st Century UK Culture

As will be clear elsewhere on this website we believe we have therefore now entered a time when the “Christendom worldview” of our cultural history, is effectively “exiled” from the centre of our society. Those who follow Christ now find themselves marginalised. Is this a bad thing? Certainly not! As God’s people we should always have been with the marginalised – because He is!
Apostolic solutions

CCM believe an authentic 21
st Century UK contemporary Christian ministry should be characterised by offering “apostolic solutions” to our society’s ills from the margin, for the marginalised - and offer an alternative kingdom perspective to the centre of the culture over time. It should also offer relevant prophetic and apostolic teaching for the consideration of the Church, as the main agent of delivery of the Kingdom.

We draw inspiration for the strategy that should be applied by looking to the people of Israel and what they were specifically told to do in a time of exile.
We call this the Jeremiah 29 Challenge….

4 This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. 7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
